A few facebook statuses

Me: I love you Baby batman... Well, are you going to say "I love you Mommy"?
Baby batman: No, Mommy. I love choc-choc (chocolate)
For once, rain, I welcome you. On 2 hours sleep, I was not relishing going out for my walk. Also, Batman was up nearly the same amount of time I was. Thank God for coffee.
Registering Batman for T-Ball tonight :)
Batman: How old is daddy, mommy?
Me: He's 30
Batman: He's 30!!!! That's older than you, mommy!!!
Me: He certainly is.
Me, to daddy: the tooth fairy wouldn't happen to have another shiny loonie, would she??? Swear to God, he (Batman) pulled it out himself!
You know how kids sometimes sneak snacks when they assume you're not paying attention? Yeah... I just caught Brennan and Aidan with a bowl FULL of... Green Beans. Boys after Daddy's heart, indeed.
Brennan just lost his first tooth!!!!! (april 15th)

Nice morning so far!

I was busy wondering what I would write for today, because sunday is the day I write on this blog, and then Brennan came up to me.  This is what he said:

"Mommy, you know what I'm going to buy you for your birthday??"  (note: my birthday was last week)
"What Baby???
"I'm going to buy you a a robot that cleans the whole house when you push a button on it's back!!"

Gotta say, I'm a big fan!

In other news, Aidan said "Love" for the first time today.

Best Boys haircut ever!!

Aidan was sooooo good, I was amazed, never cried, or scrunched his shoulders, or anything. His hair is so fine that it barely took any time at all, 10 minutes max. Brennan's hair is thicker, so it took about 20-30 minutes. Great time, and they both look wonderful. Apples and Peanut butter as treats for my 2 boys!

Hair cuts and fun times

Aidan has been saying plenty of words lately, calling Brennan "Ben" and saying complete-ish sentences, like "Ben!  BEN!!! Wake up Ben!"
He'll agree with pretty much anything "Ben" says, and shakes his head no at me, unless I'm offering French Fries and/or juice!

"Where Ben???? Where Daddy???"

Right at this very second, he's looking at me with a panicked look on his face, saying "BUM!!" and tooting.  I'm so in love with my boys!!!!!!

It's official!

Well Brennan, it's official!  You now are a student at your international kindergarten, and I'm sooooo proud of you!  I brought in the deposit today, to officially keep your place for next year.

"You know what school is?  It's a place where you make friends, and you play, and you do lots of work, and I'm 5... and I'm going to school!!!!!!!!"

As I'm writing this post, this is what you told Aidan, right behind me.  And now, I'm going to turn around, and remind you to eat your supper.

Dear Aidan

You're obsessed with French Fries!!!!!!  Nanny took us to the mall today, and as soon as we ENTERED the food court, you started in with a chorus of "French Fries"!!!  This lasted all the way through to buying a kids meal, all the way home, and then, after waiting 5 minutes after getting home, you FINALLY were able to eat your French Fries!  Good times.

Love you, Baby Batman!

Facebook status updates (Aidan)

"Aidan singing the Scooby Doo song: Doo doo doo, whereyou!"

We were watching Scooby Doo the other day, and I caught you singing that little ditty above.  A cute moment, no doubt about that!

Facebook status updates (Brennan)

Here are a few status updates that either Daddy or I put up this past week:

"Daddy, want to see the Brennan Shovel dance?" Uhm...the Brennan Shuffle? "No, Daddy, the Brennan SHOVEL dance!" Okay... *dances around wildly on the bed.
Brennan: Would you like to cook? Me: Mommy is already cooking. Plus its a girl's job... Brennan: But its also a boy's job, right Daddy? Me: Yeah buddy, I was joking.
Just finished Brennan's Kindergarten test. He left with the group of little kids, and on his way out the door, turned, smiled and waved bye to me :) He played legos, drew a picture of himself, wrote his name, and other stuff that he can't seem to remember right now :)
Brennan: "Is Christmas anyone's birthday?" Me: "Well, it's Jesus' birthday." Brennan: "Oh. Is he coming over for a birthday party, too?" Ummmm.... Christmas? Having Christmas and 2 birthday parties in the same month gets confusing for little boys.
The first 2 are from Daddy, the 3rd one was a post that I put up after your test at Children's World, your first real foray into the world of school.  The last one was just cute!

Aidan's NEW favorite words

It's been  while since I've written to you, Bear and Bunny.  Everything's been a bit busy lately, but I'm back on track, hopefully for good, because I don't want to miss you're special moments because I didn't take the time to write them down.  Anyways, Aidan's new words:

Choo-Choo, please (sounds like cheese, which is also a new word).  Truck, down, up, and body parts, like hand, arm, bum, knee, cheek, toes, head, hair, nose, eyes, mouth, teeth (which sounds like cheese and please).  Also, you like to tell us what you want, like juice, cheese, crackers, ju-ju (jubies).  Full sentences are coming along slowly but surely, starting with two words, like "please mam" (mam for Grand, I really must stop calling her mum around you, you refuse to call her Grand!)  Cat, hat, (together, combined with the pointing of the cat and the hat puzzle was awesome).

You certainly have a lot of words in your repertoire, and I'm enjoying hearing them, and have you understand almost everything I say, including putting juice away in the fridge (when you give me juice and your cup, so I know you definitely want juice, asap.  You know, just in case I missed the whole "Juice... juice... juice!!!!!!!!!)

You're birthday is coming up, and you'll be two.  Two is a huge age, moving you up a notch, to official toddlerhood.  You've been "toddling" along for ages now, but this will be official.  Next fall, your big brother Brennan will be starting school, and then, for a bit, it'll be just you and me at home.  It will be a new stage in all our lives, and I'm looking forward to it, and a little bit dreading the changes at the same time.  Change is not always easy, but when it's good change, it's best to make the leap in a healthy, happy way.  I will write again soon, Bear, though the next post will probably be for Brennan, because he has his birthday on wednesday.

I love you so much.

Bedtimes

My little Guys, I love you, and you're hilarious when you're tired.

Aidan, if you're sitting in your chair, you'll just lay your head down on the arm, and close your eyes.  Sometimes you fall asleep like that, other times I catch you and take you to your bed.  Then, you're fighting sleep with every FIBER of your being... even to the point where you stand on your head, kick out your feet, or jabber non-stop.  About whatever, it doesn't really matter, so long as you get to stay up another 5 minutes.

Brennan, you get up constantly, asking for food and drink, to go to the bathroom, to watch another movie, read another book, or just keep me entertained with stories of how Superman and Alfred are Batman's bosses, and how you look like a superhero with your new Batman shirt and cape on.

I don't think you guys like bedtime very much... I've gotta tell you, though, from the moment my first boy wakes up, I hit the ground running, and I'm usually ready for my own bedtime at 10am...  Just saying...

Lots of love,
Mommy

To Brennan: Things you like, Part 1

You, my little guy, like Batman, Superman, and other superheroes.  You are currently saying your first hello to Auntie Terry on the phone.  And whenever you get on the phone, you say your name, and the first thing you say is something nice about Aidan.  You always include your little brother.  Sometimes you're a little rough with him, but you're just trying to get him to play with you, and Aidan mostly prefers to do his own thing.

I'll write more another day, when I think of some more.

To Aidan: Things you like, Part 1

My baby, for some crazy reason, you looooove to eat everyone's food off their plates, especially Brennan.  Brennan is a good sharer, but you still go after everyone's plates.  Also, you like to climb up as high as you go.  The getting down part is ok, except when you're up too high, then you call for help.  You've started coming to me with your bobos so you can get kisses make better.

I'll continue this later, when I get a chance to sit down and think of more.

To Brennan and Aidan

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for letting me sleep in until 9am!!!!  It would have been even longer, too, if your Daddy hadn't stumbled around the house and woken you up!  Still, thanks!!!!!!!

To Brennan

I hope today will be a good day for us!  It seems that we butt heads quite a bit, especially when it's hot, or when you (and I) get grumpy.  Since we moved, things have been a little better.  I don't have to tell you not to do all the things you love to do, such as stomp like a dinosaur, run around like Superman/Batman, jump, play loudly with your toys, and the list goes on.  I think that, since we've moved, you don't do those things quite as much, as if now that I don't tell you not to do them, the enjoyment is no longer there.  Strange.  Don't get me wrong, you still make noise, and messes, and things that get you in trouble.  Just remember that I'll always love you, no matter how much I get angry sometimes, especially when you don't listen to my directives the first (5) times around.

To Brennan

"I love you. My name is Brennan.  I would like to say "T I double-G errrr... and that spells Brennan!... And Tigger too.  I love you Mommy, very much.  Who's that mommy I love?  I like dinosaurs named Tyrannosaurus Rex and Carnotaurs.  Who's that Baby I love (pointing at Aidan)  Who's that Daddy I love that plays X-box games and sleep all day and snores all day!  And I like calling people and going on the computer, playing with Aidan, making supper, watching tv, packing boxes, and hugging and kissing my mommy!  And that's it!"

These are your words, Bunny, while sitting on my lap at 4 and a half years old.

I love you very much!

To Aidan

My Bear, why are you afraid of Lemon Meringue pie??? I offered you a bite at least 5 times tonight, and you backed away EACH time, looking at me with a look that says "I don't trust you and your canary-yellow food... what IS thar stuff, anyways?  That's it, you're getting The Scowl.  Now leave me alone while I bump into the desk, the chair and another chair backing away from you".  I swear to God, that is your reaction.  I have no idea if you would behave the same if I gave you apple pie... Is it just pie-related, or desert-related?  I know you have a sweet tooth, so for now, I'll leave it.

Love you!

To Aidan

Kindly stop yelling my name!!!! I love you, and I'm thrilled that you can say "Maman" (look at you, all bilingual at 18 months!) but sometimes Mommy needs a minute to think!  Especially when we're 4 days away from our move.  So I'll make you a deal.  If you promise not to climb any chairs, tables or boxes, I will let you down from your booster seat more often.  Do you think you could manage that?  I'll hold up my end, if you can hold up yours.  Oh, and don't listen to Brennan when he tries to tell you to go on the big rocking chair.  You know Mommy says no, so don't do it!

I love you my little Bear!
